The romantic Buchacker Alpine Inn lies amidst the wonderful mountains of the Lower Inn Valley at an elevation of 1,295 metres. It is a worthwhile excursion destination in its own right, and easy for the whole family to reach on foot along a forest trail from Angerberg in 1½ hours. Another half an hour, and you reach the entry to the Hundalm Ice and Stalactite Cave. A discovery tour through the cave with a trained guide is an exciting experience that will be remembered for years to come. The cave was made a nature conservation site in 1956. No wonder its impressive stalactite and ice formations make it such a true jewel of nature. The most famous formation is the Head of Christ in the stalactite chamber.
How to get there
By car from Breitenbach towards Angerberg, at Embach turn left into the car park. Then on foot along a forest trail for approx. 1½ hours to Buchackeralm. From there, it is another half hour on foot to the cave.
