A castle museum? Yes, but not at all dusty, rather stuffed full of life: The “European Castle Worlds of Ehrenberg” in Reutte, with the Klause group of fortresses, Ehrenberg ruins, Schlosskopf fortress and Fort Claudia, are a proud 700 years old and as lively as never before. Extraordinary settings to be experienced by the whole family bring the Middle Ages to life again in 14 renovated rooms.

On the tracks of the knight
Ever wondered how “wearable” a knight’s armour is? Here you can try it on, take up a sword and practise adopting chivalric virtues. A special level for children is the performance venue of the “Knight Rüdiger Rally”, followed by a presentation of certificates. Nobody should miss out the romantic castle playground either. The path through the “Magic Wood” fascinates children and adults alike, as does the working drawbridge. Hungry knights and castle maidens should ideally head for the castle restaurant, which serves up delicious dishes.

Info and entertainment for time-travellers
The show-fort of Schlosskopf introduces visitors to the fascinating construction technology of the late Baroque period. Another feature is the last salt warehouse on the Via Claudia Augusta. The nature and culture guides provide interesting information on this, as well as on other indoor and outdoor tours. A very special event is the “Zeitreise” (“Journey through Time”) – the large chivalric spectacle in Europe is held here every year, as are entertaining musicals, concerts and other attractive events.
