Even Ötzi has moved into this area and untouched, unspoilt nature can still be found in the Ötztal Nature Park. Lush meadows, pine forests, mountain streams and rock faces mark the landscape and define a large relaxation area. The nature park covers the southern Ötztal valley as well as the Venter and Gurgeltal valleys. Features of particular natural beauty include the Obergurgl pine forest, the Vernagtferner and the idyllic Schwarzsee. While in the Nature Park, get to know all the representatives of the regional fauna, from the marmot to the glacier flea and the mayfly, and discover the geology, history and plant life of this high-alpine area step by step on guided hikes.
