Welcome to the world of the ice giants! They are particularly majestic in the Zillertal Alps. The 85 glaciers or so which dot the panorama of the Nature Park are called “keese” in the Zillertal. Their impressive beauty can be experienced up close on guided glacier hikes. There is also an abundance of green in the Zillertal Alps Nature Park, as it extends from about 1,000 m to 3,509 m, covering all elevations of the Central Alps. For visitors, this means the best possible relaxation – either when mountain hiking, climbing, mountain biking, going on wonderful ski tours or pleasant walks. The Nature Park Information Centre is located in the original mountaineering village of Ginzling, which is worth a look in its own right.
