Founded 180 years ago in 1823, the Tyrol Provincial Museum, or Ferdinandeum, was the third oldest “national museum” in the Austro-Hungarian empire after Budapest and Graz. With its valuable art collections, it reflected the identity of the Tyrol. In addition to the Museum im Zeughaus, the natural sciences collections, the Tyrol Museum of Folk Art and the Hofkirche, the Ferdinandeum has been part of the Tyrol Provincial Museums since 2007.

Art with an art break
Art also takes a break from time to time, as does the viewing of art. In the “Kunstpause” café, also in the building, the art is on the plate, and here you can enjoy outstanding meals in a pleasant setting. Enjoy the “Museum Breakfast” here every Sunday from 10.00 am. The combi-ticket can be purchased at the museum’s ticket counter, and includes entry to the museum, a guided tour at 11.00 am and breakfast with bakery items, butter, jam and your choice of drink.
